Testimonials

Last week I was eagerly awaiting an “Opposition to Motion to Dismiss” from opposing counsel on a well-publicized, multi-million dollar case. I had to quickly review it before I presented it to my new boss, a high-powered prominent, litigation attorney. I reviewed the brief and found it rife with poor grammar. My boss asked me for my take on the brief and I found myself muttering to her, "You need Nandell for this. . . ." My boss asked me what I meant, and I realized in that moment, I had almost unconsciously retrieved the memory of you as one of the top three proofreaders/document quality control specialists that I have met in my 19 years working in the legal industry. This is no light feat as in my years supervising document production personnel, I have probably come across 200 plus professionals in your field.

I know what excellence means, but I don't know how to account for someone like you who in skills, professionalism, and character, pushes beyond the bar of excellence. Where do you find that in you? How does one replicate that in others? After reading the brief, my boss asked me if we "can get Nandell," and I told her that I've tried but Seattle holds you in her charm and that amazing family of yours holds you by the heart. I know that no sum of money we could offer you would pull you away from your family. That, in and of itself, says it all about you. I would feel exceedingly honored if ever the opportunity to work with you presented itself again.

I have been a proofreader for the past eleven years, and often times have been complimented by my peers and supervisors on my competency and efficiency in proofreading. However, for one to be a great student, one has to have an excellent teacher. So it is with honor, respect and appreciation that I attribute my exceptional skills to Nandell Palmer, my teacher.

Prior to proofreading, I had worked in banking for a number of years. I desperately yearned for a career change. And when that change came about, I was literally at a crossroads. Not knowing which direction I should take, Nandell birthed in me “proofreading.” To be truthful, at that time, I had never heard of such a profession, but after he carefully tutored me, articulated and demonstrated the necessary skills, eleven years later proofreading has become my main source of income. And a rewarding one at that!

Over the years I am still amazed at Nandell’s love, appreciation and command of the English Language. Whenever there is a need for any punctuation or grammatical clarification, no one else comes to mind but Nandell. He is in all true sense of the word, one of the best proofreaders around today. He is excellent! He is rare!

When it comes to editing our play or movie scripts, Nandell Palmer is our go-to guy. His work is second to none. When we asked him to edit our work, he delivered our material back to us in record time. We would entrust all of our most important work to Mr. Palmer because of his extreme capability for editing/proofreading. He possesses a rare knack for wanting perfection every time he is called upon. Mr. Palmer is an asset to anybody who has editing needs. If you don't use him, you're selling yourself short . . . Now who wants to do that? We wouldn't. Thanks for everything, Mr. Palmer.

Blessings are truly at the tips of your fingers, Nandell. I wish to tell the world that the work you have produced for Northwest Cuts N’ Stuff as editor-in-chief is quite stellar. The superb editing skills you’ve brought to the paper, overseeing the entire production each month, is a blessing unto itself. Your in-depth attention to detail, along with your effort and invaluable insights, has helped the staff to feel as though anything is possible. Northwest Cuts N' Stuff has kept afloat because of your dedicated service to us all.

A few months ago Nandell Palmer spoke to me about the importance of a parent passing on blessings to his or her children. He literally caught me off guard with that statement, but after pondering the significance of what he had to say for a while, I knew that it was a brilliant idea. I embraced it with open arms. Shortly thereafter, I wrote my two sons a father’s blessings, and straightaway went to the post office where I mailed them off in separate envelopes. Whenever they are old enough, I am planning to read my sons those written blessings. Thank you, Nandell, for enlightening me about the power of blessing my children. I am so invigorated for having done so. Many more blessings to you.

This morning I spoke to my mother who is not in the best of health these days, but is doing all she can to be well. Being the primary caregiver for a sick spouse is taking a toll on her. She’s always prayed for me, and I know that her prayers and blessings have sustained me over the years. What better time to return the favor and pray and/or write a blessing for my own mother in her time of need. I believe that if we are in Christ and He is in us, our prayers and blessings will be heard. I bless you, Mom, for all you’ve done over the years for me and my siblings. I bless you, Nandell, and your family, for opening our eyes to the fact that God doesn’t always show Himself in the miraculous and the spectacular, when a simple prayer and a blessing will sustain.
